What is Creatine?

Creatine is an organic compound that is found naturally within the body. It is usually sold as a white to off-white crystalline powder and has minimal taste or odour. Creatine comes in various forms, such as HCl and Ethyl Ester. The most common is Creatine Monohydrate.

Although your body produces Creatine daily, mass-manufactured Creatine is created by reacting sarcosine and cyanamide. Once heated and pressurised, it creates Creatine crystals.

Following this, the crystals are then purified to remove unwanted particles before drying, milling and packing. The fine powder milling makes it easier to dissolve (usually to around 200 Mesh).

Most alternative types of Creatine use Creatine Monohydrate as the base. Other added molecules and ingredients add to its abilities in return for mildly less pure Creatine. For example, Creatine HCl allows for a faster uptake, minimising the body's time to use it effectively.

This product works by converting ADP back into ATP within the body. ATP fuels the body and allows for more exertion than usual. The side effect of this is improved physical gains. The effectiveness of Creatine is seen mainly over short bursts of exercise, especially when compared to sustained activity.

Creatine at Kilo Ltd.

Creatine is available both in powder or tablet form. Also, Creatine is in pre and post-workout mixtures along with several amino acids. Due to its specific purpose and use, sports nutrition industries use Creatine almost exclusively. There is one exception, however. Hospitals and medicine use Creatine Monohydrate to help with muscle damage, repair, atrophy and prevent muscle degeneration.

At Kilo, we supply Creatine to many sports nutrition and pharmaceutical companies throughout the UK and Ireland. We usually provide this in 25kg bags and as little as a single bag to pallet lots and beyond. We source our goods from reputable, certified sources who fulfil our high standards.
